Picking Your Puppy:

We know this is an exciting time for you and your family. I wanted to give you an insight on how Big Tex helps each family choose their puppy. Most families choose their puppy based on a color or pictures that are posted on Facebook and Instagram, although looks are important, to make an excellent match it is paramount to examine the puppy's personality. Just like every child in a family, the same applies to every puppy in a litter. At Big Tex we are with these little ones 24 hours every day and learn each puppies personality...are they feisty, more reserved, sensitive or very active. We go over every application that has been submitted for a specific litter. As the puppies get older, we will ask each family to give us their top 3 choices. Some families may want a specific sex, we will then look at those puppies in that gender. If there is a puppy that we feel would be a good match for their family, but is not the sex they initially requested, we will give them our opinion...that will be up to the family if they are okay with a different gender other than what they were originally requesting. "A Cause To Give Us Paws" temperament tests all of our puppies at 7 weeks of age. This organization helps train service/therapy dogs for veterans and civilians with a specific disability. We have had a tremendous amount of success with this method, and I  get many calls, thanking us for help guiding them through the process.
